CLOSED: 2024 Section 8/ Housing Choice Voucher Program Waitlist

Effective Monday, April 8, 2024, at 7:30 AM CST, the Crestview Housing Authority will open the Section 8/Housing Choice Voucher Housing waitlist for applicants who qualify. The Section 8 program is for very low-income families. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-serve basis.

NOTE: ** The waitlist will close on Monday, April 15, 2024, at 5:30 pm CDT.

Application information: Applications will be available for download from our website beginning April 8, 2024, at 7:30 am or may be picked up in our office at 371 W. Hickory Ave. Crestview, FL 32536, during office hours.

You can request a copy be emailed to you by sending your request to Nicole Sears.

An accepted, complete application includes all information requested, signature pages in the application signed by all adults in the household, a copy of Social Security Card, and a copy of a Valid picture ID for each adult on the application.

Once the application is reviewed and deemed complete, you will be added to the waitlist, first come, first serve.

If your application is incomplete, you will be notified and given a deadline to provide the requested documents. If you do not respond by the date on the notice, your application will be moved to inactive.

You are welcome to re-apply when the waiting list reopens.

Crestview Housing Authority/Section 8 does have a local preference. This preference will be for families who live or work in Okaloosa County over families who do not live or work in Okaloosa County. Information must be provided on your application.

Online application submission and an online waitlist status are NOT available at this time.

CHA Office hours: Monday-Thursday 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, Friday 7:30 am to 11:30 am CDT.
